Teachers’ Corners on LCA and LTA provide resources for instructors who want to incorporate instruction on innovative methods into their teaching. Teachers’ Corners are designed to make comprehending and teaching a method as easy as possible. Contents may include

  • PowerPoint presentations,
  • introductory articles for instructors,
  • sample exercises, and
  • reading lists for students.

These resources are designed to be used by instructors, but researchers and graduate students could also use them to introduce the methods to themselves.

LCA Teachers’ Corner

Latent class analysis (LCA) identifies unobservable subgroups within a population. LCA can provide data to tailor interventions to target the subgroups that will benefit most.

LTA Teachers’ Corner

Latent transition analysis (LTA) is an extension of LCA that uses longitudinal data to identify movement between the subgroups over time. We recommend using the LCA Teachers’ Corner before the LTA Teachers’ Corner.
